RALEIGH, NC-The National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes and the team's broadcast partner FSN South today announced FSN South's 55-game cable television package for the 2007-08 NHL season. FSN South's coverage of live Hurricanes games includes 34 of the team's 41 road games and 21 key match ups at the RBC Center throughout the 82-game regular season. As always, John Forslund will handle the play-by-play duties for the FSN South telecasts while former professional goaltender Tripp Tracy will provide analysis.

In addition to FSN South's coverage of live Hurricanes games, the NHL's national cable television rights holder Versus will telecast five of the team's games in 2007-08, bringing the total number of telecasts in the Hurricanes' viewing area to 60. FSN South will carry each of Carolina's four games against Eastern Conference foes the Buffalo Sabres and the Pittsburgh Penguins, as well as the majority of the team's games against Southeast Division opponents Atlanta, Florida, Tampa Bay and Washington. Hurricanes games against Western Conference opponents Chicago, Columbus, Minnesota and St. Louis, as well as Carolina's 2006 Stanley Cup Final opponent Edmonton, also are included in the FSN South package.
