Zdenek Blatny leaves AHL Springfield, joins Swedish team MoDo

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (CP) - The AHL's Springfield Falcons announced Friday they had agreed to release forward Zdenek Blatny so he could join MoDo of the Swedish Elite League.
The 25-year-old Blatny had six goals and seven assists in 19 games with Springfield this season. He was selected 68th overall by Atlanta in 1999 and has appeared in 25 NHL games with the Thrashers and Boston Bruins.
