VANCOUVER (CP) - Captain Colton Yellow Horn scored twice to lead the Tri-City Americans to a 4-2 win over the Vancouver Giants in WHL action Tuesday night.
Yellow Horn now has 33 goals on the season. The Giants (30-11-3-5) rallied from a 3-0 deficit to make it close but Tri-City (28-16-0-1) cemented the win with an empty-net goal. Just as the Americans finished killing their second penalty of the first period they got a break. A pass to Jonathan Blum went past him and Kruise Reddick of Tri-City poked the puck ahead.
He pulled away from Blum and converted a 2-on-1 break by firing a shot through the legs of Giants goalie Blaine Neufeld at 11:52.
Following a turnover by Brendan Mikkelson, Yellow Horn scored on a backhand shot with less than a minute to play in the first.
