This can't be good for an already struggling Islanders team.

I saw the injury on a hilite show last night, looks nasty. What ever you think of Yashin you have to feel for him suffering an injury like that.
Peca has to step up and play good if Islanders have any chance of making the playoffs.

I dont think thats going to happen expecially with the slump that he's in.

then no playoff for isles!
this will hurt thing!...ouch....losing their best player for that long of a time will for sure kill the team....like it did to the nucks a few years back...wish him a speedy recoverey
... I didn't think the Alexei Yashin bobblehead voodoo doll would actually work... here take this!... and this! :]

There isn't really much worse of an injury that a hockey can have. Pretty scary stuff, good for him that he will make a complete recovery.

The Ottawa Sun got its hands on a couple
of Alexei Yashin bobbblehead dolls and is running a
promotion for Saturday's game against the Islanders in
Ottawa. The first two fans on the paper's Web site who
correctly answer the question - How many times in
Ottawa was Yashin a contract holdout? - will get a
Yashin bobblehead doll. "They'll probably burn it,"
Yashin said.
or worse

The captain really does need to step it up now. These next 8-12 weeks will be do or die for the Isles chances at the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised to see Milbury try and make a move or 2 now to solidify the forward lines. Doubtful he'll trade Peca now as losing "2 of your best players" at the same time would probably devestate this team in terms of confidence. Im actually hoping some of the guys like Papineau, Weinhandl and Mapletoft can take things up a notch in Yashin's absence.
One thing is for sure, Milbury wanted to trade Yashin for financial reasons(wich he is responsible of). It's a sad situation for Yashin but i'm happy that Milbury will have to live with the big contract he gave Yashin. What a GM! Can he make more mistakes??? Damn, that guy would have lasted 7 days in Montreal or in Toronto!!!!

Well with Yashin's contract I dont think anyone would pick him up even if he was healthy. Milbury has essentially made Yashin untradeable. As for making more mistakes... well lets just wait and see what the weeks ahead bring, because I wouldnt be surprised to see Mad Mike back in the house making some of his patented stupid moves.

At least he is creative!
Hmmm. I guess that's an interesting way of explaining Milbury's moves. Heheh.
