What would return to Calgary if Buffalo wanted this trade to happen?

If Calgary trades Iginla, it's to rebuild, so it makes a lot more sense to get multiple picks, prospects or young players. Because of their internal budget, this is something that Buffalo can't provide unless they want to severly overpay.

There just isn't a whole lot of wasted salary on the Sabres team. Because of this, the players coming back from Buffalo would be pretty good players in their own right, so it would pretty much be another quantity for quality trade.

It would probably end up being something like Drew Stafford, Jason Pominville and a pick.

So you'd trade Stafford and Vanek for only a first round pick in return? No team can take on that amount of salary without sending any back. It also is completely unrelated to the thread topic, which is Iginla to Buffalo.

Yeah because Buffalo's paying blow hole Vanek and those other bums. Iginla will never come to Buffalo. Btw I would trade Vanek.
