Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Henrik Zetterberg scored a pair of goals, including the go-ahead marker in the infant stages of the third period, to lift the Detroit Red Wings over the Phoenix Coyotes, 4-2, at Joe Louis Arena.
Robert Lang also scored and Pavel Datsyuk added an empty-net goal for the Red Wings, who have won five in a row. Dominik Hasek turned away 22 shots to pick up the victory.
His counterpart, Curtis Joseph, was much busier, as he faced 47 shots on the night and came up with 44 saves. Shane Doan and Owen Nolan both scored for Phoenix, which has dropped four of its last six.
Zetterberg used a fortunate bounce early in the third to give his team a 3-2 edge. After Nicklas Lidstrom just missed the 200th goal of his career by ringing the post, the Red Wings regained control and kicked it to the right point for Zetterberg. The left winger ripped a shot from there that caromed off a defenseman's skate in front before slipping past a helpless Joseph at the 3:22 mark.
