Its a toss up for me between Iginla and Sakic. I think both players are great leaders, and are very well respected in the league. You cant go wrong by choosing either of these two players, and whoever is selected will lead the team well.

Ryan Smyth has captained Canada overseas before, many teams. I think its the WC of hockey; the tournament is when the playoffs just start.
He's always the captain.

Joe Sakic is one of the best players in the world, in fact, all time. I'll bet you when he retires he'll be on the top 10 all time scorers list. He can do almost anything. He skates very well, and he maybe the best and certainly the quickest wrist shot I've ever seen. He's a world class player and a great leader. He deserves to be the captain of Team Canada.

Because he'll do anything to get a Win for his team. Im sure Niedermayer will, but Ive watched Ryan Smyth for years and I think he's one of the best leaders in the league. He's captained team Canada at the Worlds over and over and has done a great job. He's as tough as nails and he's not afraid to take a puck of the side of the face standing in front of the net. That's what makes a leader.
