Bruins update
The Chilliwack Bruins announced today that Western Hockey League veteran Josh Aspenlind will be the first Bruins Captain. Aspenlind, a right-winger, has spent three seasons in the WHL, playing 88 games with Prince George before a mid-season trade to the Swift Current Broncos, where he suited up for 98 more games. In 186 career games, Aspenlind had 40 goals and 35 assists. He has also racked up 378 minutes in penalties in that time. Stephane Lenoski, Craig Lineker and Myles Stoesz have been named Assistant Captains.
Bruins Head Coach Jim Hiller:
"These four players will have a huge responsibility as they will be pivotal in setting the foundation and culture of the Chilliwack Bruins for others to follow. It is a mature group who has won the respect of their teammates and coaches both on and off the ice."
