Toronto Maple Leafs sophomore forward Kyle Wellwood left Wednesday's practice early with what seemed to be a groin injury.

Head coach Paul Maurice feels the injury isn't serious enough that the red-hot Wellwood would miss Firday's game against Chicago but that he may rest him through practices leading to the game.

Glad to hear it's not serious. He's been superb for Toronto this year. Somewhat inconsistent on the scoresheet, but he's always a threat on the ice.

Wouldn't want him missing any time.

Yeah, the Leafs can not afford to lose Wellwood for any amount of time. He has been inconsistent but he's always someone I'm glad is on the ice and building the career as a Leafs.
