Screaming Eagles 7, Mooseheads 2
The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles continued their hot streak in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with a convincing win over the Halifax Mooseheads on Wednesday.
The Screaming Eagles surged to a huge lead on the strength of five first-period goals and cruised to a 7-2 win over the visiting Mooseheads.
Cape Breton (27-12-2-0) has now won three straight games, and nine of their last 11.
At Sydney, N.S., James Sheppard and Cam Fergus each had a goal and an assist to lead the Screaming Eagles. Etienne Breton, Jean-Claude Sawyer, Paul Alexander McIlveen, Robert Slaney and Bradley Gallant also scored for Cape Breton.
Peter-James Corsi and Bryce Swan replied for Halifax (18-18-3-2).
David Davenport made 18 saves for the Screaming Eagles while Roger Kennedy and Mark Yetman combined for 38 saves for the Mooseheads.
Remparts 4, Foreurs 3 (OT)
At Val-d'Or, Que., Jerome Samson scored in overtime to lead the Foreurs (25-13-2-1) over Quebec. Simon Bolduc, with two, and Marc-Andre Cote also scored for the Foreurs. Kelsey Tessier, Brent Aubin and Joey Ryan scored for the Remparts (23-16-2-2).

At Bathurst, N.B., Christian Gaudet scored twice to lead Moncton over the Titan. Pierre-Marc Lessard, Andrew MacDonald and Matt Marquardt also scored for the Wildcats (27-14-0-1). Martin Bartos, Tomy Joly and Thomas Beauregard replied for Acadie-Bathurst (23-15-1-2).

At Lewiston, Maine, Chris Tutalo's goal at 7:26 of the third proved to be the winner as the Maineiacs (29-8-0-3) beat Saint John. Stefano Giliati and Pierre-Luc Faubert had the other goals. Francois Gauthier and Olivier Painchaud scored for the Sea Dogs (10-27-1-1).

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Joakim Jenses scored the winning goal in the third period as the Drakkar edged Chicoutimi. Maxime Ouimet and Mathieu Tousignant also scored for Baie-Comeau (21-13-1-6). David Desharnais and Francois Chabot replied for the Sagueneens (19-19-4-1).
