Could there be a better way to start the National Hockey League than to plop yourself in front of the television to watch Mike Ribeiro fire pucks at former Amigo Jose Theodore?
The Dallas Stars, Ribeiro's new team, are in Denver tonight to meet Theodore and the Colorado Avalanche, but the clash of Amigos might have to wait. It seems that Ribeiro is still waiting for the visa that will allow him to work in the States and there's a good chance he won't play before the weekend.
And while we're on the subject of Ribeiro, Dallas coach Dave Tippett and Canadiens coach Guy Carbonneau traded scouting reports this week. Carbonneau, who used to work for the Stars, gave Tippett the lowdown on Ribeiro, while Tippett offered insights on the Canadiens' newest defenceman, Janne Niinimaa.
