Antoine Vermette avoided arbitration on Tuesday, as the Ottawa Sun reports that the Senators winger has agreed to a two-year, $2 million contract.

Vermette will reportedly make make $925,000 US next year and $1.075 million US in 2007-08.

He was scheduled to have his arbitration hearing in Toronto on Thursday.

Vermette, 23, played in all 82 games for hte Senators last season, scoring 21 goals and 33 points.

Good Good Signing...... As Ottawa Need Some1 Except Alfredssion,heatley And Spezza To Score.. Now Vermette And Schaeffer And Varada Are Good Now............. Oh Well Sens Lost Chara But They Gained Preissing. Preisging Had Same Points And Same +/-

Good move by them. 1M a season for 2 years? That's pretty good, especially compared to what players like Antropov managed to steal away from their clubs.

JFJ rips off the team again. Toronto, Toronto... why, why, why?! :rolleyes:
