The Vancouver Giants scored three times in the third period to defeat the Kelowna Rockets 6-4 at Prospera Place on Wednesday night.

Casey Pierro-Zabotel had another great night for the Giants, scoring once and drawing 3 assists in the victory. Evander Kane notched three goals for Vancouver in the win, including the game winner on a slick dangle past TEAM CANADA teammate Tyler Myers. Craig Schira and Craig Cunningham also scored for the Giants.

Vancouver moves their record to 38-4-0-3 on the season and 26 points clear of Kelowna in the BC Division. The Giants now have seventy nine points on the season and draw to within four points of the Calgary Hitmen for first overall in the WHL...the Giants have four games in hand.

The Giants will finally return home for a 'Giant Weekend.' Vancouver will take on the Kamloops Blazers on Friday night at 7:30 pm. The first 10,000 fans through the doors will receive a commemorative 8 x 10 print honouring the contributions of Evander Kane and Pat Quinn to Team Canada's Gold Medal performance at the World Junior Championship. Make sure you are in your seats early as the Giants plan to honour Evander Kane, Jonathon Blum, Brendan Gallagher and Pat Quinn prior to the game.

You can catch all the action on AM 650. Brook Ward and Steve Ewen will have the SAVE ON FOODS pre game show at 7 pm, with Dave Sheldon calling all of the action between Kamloops and Vancouver at 7:30 pm.
