Hey guys, im new to the forum. we got some intense hockey games, just wanted to know who you guys think has the best chance between US and Finland for friday. The winner obviously will fight for gold.

Im rooting for US, what chance of an upset does Finland have?

With Kiprusoff and Miller in net, I'm expecting a goaltending duel and the game can definitely go either way.

Finland has a very good chance at an "upset", but considering that Finland and the USA have almost identical IIHF world rankings, I'm not sure upset's the right word to use.

first off welcome to the forum. And I think tomorrows game should be a very exciting one, that I'll unfortunately miss a good portion of unless school gets canceled. But I think it will be a great match up. I'm not sure I'm comfortable picking a winner just yet though. Kippers and Miller are both dominant players in net, and are both capable of having great days. I think the team that makes the least amount of mistakes, and is the most careful with the puck will win this game.

yeah the goalies are both top notch, im thinking it's a matter of breaking the opposing team's defense. im nervous about the game, and yes maybe the 'upset' is not appropriate, but the US seems a slight favourite. im giving them a 60/40 chance.

I'm sure no one thought that Nabakov would have given up 6 goals either. I thought for sure it was going to be 2-1 or 2-0 in the Can/Rus game.

i see this too, they're pretty much even, and it's going to come down to which team is more determined to outlast the other.

I give a lot of credit to Miller too. I think that part of why US had so much success againt Canada was partly due to Miller's ability to anticipate where the puck was going. Miller is a star of this team imo. A very emotional game tommorow.

guys, everyone seems to be leaning on US to pull through with a victory against Finland. But are you favouring US because of an attractive prospect of them facing Canada for the gold medal (assuming Canada beats slovakia). Or do you lean towards US because you think they have a legitimate chance to be victorious? Everyone i talk to immideately starts talking about them facing Canada in a rematch, but i think they have their hands full with Finland.

i guess it's gonna come down to who can keep more pucks out of the net, Miller or Kiprusoff.

im really nervous about tommorow lol
