Despite a 26-save effort from Jack Campbell (Port Huron, Mich.), the U.S. National Under-17 Team fell to the St. Louis Bandits, 2-1, here tonight at the Summit Ice Arena.

Anthony Schooley put the Bandits ahead 1-0 at 7:15 of the opening stanza with a power-play goal when he converted on a Kyle Greco feed from the slot.

In the second period and with Team USA on the power play, Michael Mersch (Park Ridge, Ill.) tucked home a rebound off of a Justin Faulk (South St. Paul, Minn.) shot at 14:40 to tie the score, 1-1. Campbell turned aside all 12 shots he saw in the frame.

With just 10 seconds remaining in regulation, Chris Ciotti won the faceoff back to Soren Jonzzon, who fired a wrist shot from the left point past Campbell to break the deadlock and give the Bandits the 2-1 win.

The U.S. National Under-17 Team will meet the Bandits again Saturday night at 7:15 p.m. CT at the Summit Ice Arena.

NOTES: Team USA remains in third place in the NAHL North Division with a 25-14-3 record ... The U.S. National Under-17 Team has won eight of its last 10 games ... St. Louis leads the NAHL with a 37-8-6 record and is the two-time defending league champion.
