Benjamin Breault and the Baie-Comeau Drakkar needed just one period to take care of the Shawinigan Cataractes.
Breault had two goals and an assist as the Drakkar stormed out to a 3-0 lead in the first period en route to a 5-2 victory over the Cataractes in QMJHL action Tuesday night.
At Baie-Comeau, Que., Charles-Antoine Messier, Jean-Philippe Paquet and
Pierre-Cedrick Labrie had the other goals for the Drakkar (27-17-1-6). Michael Dupont stopped 27 shots.
Tommy Samson and Maxime Rousseau had the goals for Shawinigan (21-25-2-3). Kevin Maletto made 27 saves.

At Rimouski, Que., Maxime Gratchev scored twice to lead the Oceanic (14-30-6-1). David Skokan and Michael Frolik had the other goals. Ryan Hillier replied for Halifax (22-25-3-2).

At Chicoutimi, Que., Nicolas Blanchard scored twice as the Sagueneens (24-24-4-1) had four second-period goals to erase a 3-0 deficit. Marc-Andre Julien, David Desharnais and Alexandre Imbeault had the others. Claude Giroux, Pierre-Marc Guilbault and Paul Byron replied for Gatineau (28-19-2-2).
