San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - Vesa Toskala stopped 23 shots for his third shutout of the season to lead the San Jose Sharks to a 4-0 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes at HP Pavilion.

Milan Michalek had a goal and an assist and Patrick Marleau and Joe Thornton each finished with three assists for the Sharks, who have won two straight and seven of their last nine games.

Curtis Joseph finished with 30 saves for the Coyotes, who have lost three of their last four games.

Michalek's power-play goal with just 1:29 to play in the first period gave the Sharks a 1-0 lead heading into the locker room.

Toskala only needed to stop six shots in the opening frame.

The Sharks grabbed a 2-0 lead with 4:29 left in the second period when Marleau slid a pass from the left boards to Steve Bernier at the inside left circle and Bernier lifted a wrister over the glove of Joseph.
