(Sports Network) - The red-hot Toronto Maple Leafs shoot for a season-best fifth consecutive victory when they resume their road trip tonight against the St. Louis Blues.

Toronto has put itself back into postseason contention with its recent surge. The injury-plagued club now stands just one point behind defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina for the Eastern Conference's eighth and final playoff spot.

The Maple Leafs have also won the first three tests of this current five-game road swing and are coming off a hard-fought 3-2 triumph over rival Ottawa on Saturday. John Pohl scored the game-winning goal in the fifth round of the shootout to give Toronto the victory.

Jeff O'Neill and Mats Sundin scored in regulation for the Maple Leafs, who won for the sixth time in seven outings. Sundin also lit the lamp in the shootout, while Andrew Raycroft put forth another outstanding effort in goal.

Raycroft made 30 saves in regulation and stopped the final four Ottawa skaters he faced during the deciding phase. The 26-year-old has yielded only five goals over the course of Toronto's four-game win streak and was named the NHL's First Star of the Week on Monday.
