Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault has no plans to play backup Dany Sabourin at all in the next few weeks, which continues a heavy workload for Roberto Luongo.
As reported in the Vancouver Sun, the Canucks do not play back-to-back games until November 22-23, so Luongo will continue to carry the heavy workload.
Backup Sabourin has made just one start this season, a 2-1 loss to the Oilers on Oct. 17, and other than that, it's been all Luongo all the time.
Luongo chuckled when it was noted he's on pace for 81 appearances this season.
"If there were no more back-to-backs, maybe," he said, smiling. "It's tough to say now how many games I'll play. I don't know how I'm going to feel in January and February. But as long as I feel good and feel my body can handle it, I'll be in there."
Is Vigneault overworking Loungo? He looked pretty shaky in last nights 5-2 loss at Minnesota. He gave up 5 goales after the Cunucks had an early 2-0 lead!:dunno:
