ST. JOHN's, N.L. (CP) - Tim Spencer's power-play goal with less than five minutes remaining proved to be the game-winner as the St. John's Fog Devils downed the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 5-3 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Tuesday night.
Spencer, acquired earlier in the month in a trade with the Moncton Wildcats, added two assists, one coming on Mario Kempe's empty-netter with 10 seconds left in the contest.
Joonas Salmi, Nick Layton and Wes Welcher also scored for St. John's (6-8-1), which moved into sixth place in the QMJHL's Eastern Division, a point ahead of Acadie-Bathurst (6-9-0) and the idle Saint John Sea Dogs.
