Beauregard has five points to lead Titan past Mooseheads 7-2
Thomas Beauregard had two goals and three assists as the Acadie-Bathurst Titan crushed the Halifax Mooseheads 7-2 in QMJHL action Thursday night.
Beauregard moved atop the league scoring race with 94 points (55 goals, 36 assists), five ahead of Francois Bouchard of Baie-Comeau (31-58-89), whose team was idle Thursday.
Martin Bartos, Mathieu Perreault, Samuel Grenache and Dany Masse gave the Titan a 4-1 lead after the first period.
At Bathurst, N.B., Maxime Pomerleau scored in the second period for Acadie-Bathurst (25-16-1-2). Martin Bartos also contributed three assists.
Daniel Smith and Bryce Swan scored for Halifax (20-19-3-2).
Maineiacs 6, Fog Devils 1
At St. John's, N.L., Stefano Giliati had a hat trick as Lewiston (32-9-0-3) trounced the Fog Devils (18-23-2-1). Chris Tutalo, with two, and Simon Courcelles also scored. Matt Fillier had a power-play goal for the Fog Devils.
Foreurs 3, Rocket 1
At Val-d'Or, Que., Mathieu Roy had a goal and an assist as the Foreurs scored all of their goals in the first 5:11 of the game. Jeremy Duchesne stopped 32 shots for Val-d'Or (26-14-2-2), which moved past Rouyn-Noranda atop the West Division standings.
