(Sports Network) - If there were any doubters to whether or not Tim Thomas is worthy of being a starter in the NHL, he is answering them right now.

Thomas has won seven of his last nine appearances (7-2-0), helping the Bruins remain close to the pack in the highly-competitive Northeast Division. While they sit last in the race with 24 points, the B's are only seven back of second-place Montreal.

On Tuesday, Thomas posted his best performance of the season, stopping 45 shots as the Bruins toppled the Toronto Maple Leafs, 4-1, at Air Canada Centre. Boston finished a two-game sweep of the Leafs at ACC, as they also won a 3-1 match on Saturday.
