This thread is about the greatest teams ever in hockey. Who do you think was the best team ever? Here are your options:
a.) Montreal Canadiens 1976-1977
b.) Detroit Red Wings 1995-1996
c.) Philadelphia Flyers 1974-1975
d.) Boston Bruins 1970-1971
My Pick: The 1976-1977 Canadiens. They were amazing. Steve Shutt and Guy Lafleur were amazing together. Ken Dryden was the best goalie, and Larry Robinson the best defenseman. They were 60W-8L-12T 132 Points that year, the best team ever in the NHL according to statistics. They also went on to win the Stanley Cup. It was Lafleur's best year with a 136 Point season. He was certainly a good player. Other good players on this team include Guy Lapointe, Jacques Lemaire, Pete Mahovlich, and Bob Gainey the coach of the Canadiens this year. 1976-1977 was certainly a great year for the Canadiens.
