This thread is about the greatest teams ever in hockey. Who do you think was the best team ever? Here are your options:

a.) Montreal Canadiens 1976-1977
b.) Detroit Red Wings 1995-1996
c.) Philadelphia Flyers 1974-1975
d.) Boston Bruins 1970-1971

My Pick: The 1976-1977 Canadiens. They were amazing. Steve Shutt and Guy Lafleur were amazing together. Ken Dryden was the best goalie, and Larry Robinson the best defenseman. They were 60W-8L-12T 132 Points that year, the best team ever in the NHL according to statistics. They also went on to win the Stanley Cup. It was Lafleur's best year with a 136 Point season. He was certainly a good player. Other good players on this team include Guy Lapointe, Jacques Lemaire, Pete Mahovlich, and Bob Gainey the coach of the Canadiens this year. 1976-1977 was certainly a great year for the Canadiens.

1976-77 Montreal Canadians

For me it would be the 1976-77 montreal canadians.the detroit and montreal teams of the 1950s were also great but i was not around to see those teams in person.

Yeah, my bad. got the year mixed up. Gotta say thanks to Jacques too.
You should thank a lot of other people as well. The '93 Canadiens had four 90 point scorers on their roster and played some of the best team defense I've ever seen.

I cant believe u didnt include any of the 80s oilers teams. They had some of the best offense players of all-time and a good goalie in Grant Fuhr

I gotta go with the '02 Wings, and I can't believe you didn't include them as one of the 5 on the list. No other team had 9 hall of Famers on its roster.

I HAVE TO TOTALLY AGREE ON THIS!!! IT WAS A GREAT RUN.. GUYS LIKE HULL, CHELIOS, SHANAHAN, YZERMAN.. ECT.. HASEK.. WERE ALL KEY IN WINNING THE CUP.. HEY, EVEN ROBITAILLE GOT ONE WITH US;)

Well, I'd definitely have to go with the Habs, great dynasty. And I'm not saying this was one of the best teams in history, (something i can't say for the 02 detroit fans) but the Avs 00-01 team was a wonderful team. Great season. Ciao!
