Tavares' hat trick leads Oshawa Generals over Kingston Frontenacs 7-6

OSHAWA (CP) - John Tavares fired a hat trick and Brett MacLean scored the overtime winner as the Oshawa Generals defeated the Kingston Frontenacs 7-6 in Ontario Hockey League action on Sunday.

Right-winger Cal Clutterbuck had three points, including a goal, while Igor Gongalsky and Dale Mitchell also scored for the Generals.

Chris Stewart added a pair for the Frontenacs, while Cory Emmerton, Bobby Bolt, Matthew Kang and Peter Stevens each scored a goal.

Mark Packwood stopped 34 of 40 shots for Oshawa to pick up his third straight win.
