(Sports Network) - The New Jersey Devils will continue their longest homestand of the season tonight, when they welcome the rival New York Rangers to Continental Airlines Arena.

The Devils began their six-game stint at the Meadowlands on Saturday evening and earned a win over the Eastern Conference-leading Buffalo Sabres. Zach Parise and Jamie Langenbrunner each had a goal and an assist to help New Jersey earn the 3-2 victory.

John Madden scored the other goal and Martin Brodeur stopped 15 shots for the Devils, who won their second straight contest and improved to 18-4-4 as the home team this year.

New Jersey leads the Atlantic Division with 70 points and is now just four behind Buffalo for the top spot in the conference.

The Rangers dropped their third consecutive contest on Monday evening, as they were handed a 4-3 setback by the Detroit Red Wings at Madison Square Garden.

Robert Lang and Henrik Zetterberg scored less than two minutes apart in the third period to lead Detroit to victory in its first visit to the Garden since October 25, 2003.
