(Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Penguins try to shake their recent woes tonight when they welcome the New York Islanders to Mellon Arena.

The Pens have lost four of their last five games (1-2-2), including three of four consecutive contests against Atlantic Division foes. The lone win in that time was a 3-2 decision over the Islanders on Tuesday.

On Friday the Penguins dropped a 5-2 tilt in New Jersey, as Patrik Elias scored a goal and added two assists to lift the Devils.

Rookie sensation Evgeni Malkin had a goal and an assist for the Penguins, while Marc-Andre Fleury allowed four goals on eight shots and was pulled in the second period. Jocelyn Thibault replaced Fleury and finished with 18 saves.

Earlier in the day Malkin was named NHL Rookie of the Month for November, marking back-to-back months he has won the award. Malkin became just the second player ever to take the honor in consecutive months to open the season since it was created in 1983-84. Philadelphia goaltender Ron Hextall did so as well in October and November of 1986.

Sidney Crosby did not post a point in Friday's loss, his second game back after missing three with a groin injury.

Pittsburgh will host Florida on Friday.

New York, meanwhile, has lost consecutive games after winning three in a row. On Thursday the Isles were edged, 3-2, by visiting Philadelphia, as Antero Niittymaki made 39 saves to anchor the Flyers' effort.
