(Sports Network) - The woeful Florida Panthers, while happy to have finally ended their scoring slump, try to halt a six-game slide tonight when they visit the Pittsburgh Penguins at Mellon Arena.

Florida lost a 3-1 match to visiting Atlanta on Saturday, after failing to score a goal in its previous three games. Kari Lehtonen stopped 27 shots to lift the Thrashers.

Olli Jokinen scored the lone goal for Florida and Ed Belfour stopped 22-of-24 shots as the Cats fell to 0-5-1 during their losing streak.

Jokinen's marker ended the team's franchise-record goal drought at 218 minutes, 42 seconds. Overall, Florida has lost nine of its last 11 contests.

The Panthers will host Buffalo on Thursday.

Pittsburgh, meanwhile, has lost five of its last six games (1-3-2), including Saturday's 5-3 decision to the visiting Islanders. Viktor Kozlov and Mike Sillinger each netted a pair of goals to spark New York.

Colby Armstrong, Eric Christensen and Mark Recchi scored in the loss for the Pens, while Sidney Crosby and Ryan Whitney picked up a pair of assists apiece.

Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury was credited with an assist, his first point of the campaign, but took the loss by allowing five goals on 35 shots.
