(Sports Network) - The red-hot Pittsburgh Penguins will try to extend their season-high winning streak to seven games this afternoon, when they visit the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre.

Pittsburgh's latest triumph came on Saturday against the visiting Washington Capitals. Ronald Petrovicky scored the game-winning goal and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped all 30 shots faced as the Penguins defeated the Caps, 2-0, at Mellon Arena.

Fleury was brilliant in the contest, including making 13 saves in the final period. Rookie center Jordan Staal added an empty-net tally in the win.

Penguins phenom Sidney Crosby, who leads the NHL with 82 points, was kept off the scoresheet for the first time in nine games.

The Penguins have taken eight of their last nine and are now tied for sixth in the Eastern Conference standings with Tampa Bay. Pittsburgh is just two points behind fifth-place Montreal in the East.

Pittsburgh is 11-9-4 as the away team this year, but has won its last two tests on the road.
