(Sports Network) - The Nashville Predators will try to put an end to an impressive home winning streak by the Pittsburgh Penguins when the two teams square off tonight in an intriguing interconference matchup from Mellon Arena.

Pittsburgh has won seven of its last eight on home ice, including five straight contests as the host. The Penguins have done pretty well overall as well, as the club had ripped off six consecutive victories before falling to Montreal in overtime on Sunday.

Sheldon Souray scored 2:01 into overtime as the Canadiens earned a 4-3 win and avenged a shootout defeat to the Penguins in Pittsburgh three nights earlier.

Ryan Whitney picked up a goal and an assist while Sidney Crosby notched a pair of helpers for Pittsburgh, which also received goals from Jordan Staal and Michel Ouellet.

The Penguins, who will embark on a brief two-game road trip following tonight's showdown, are 15-8-4 at home on the season.
