(Sports Network) - The New York Islanders shoot for their fourth consecutive win tonight when they welcome the Atlanta Thrashers to Nassau Coliseum.

On Thursday, Jason Blake tallied a goal and two assists as the Islanders beat the New Jersey Devils, 5-2, at Continental Airlines Arena.

Trent Hunter, Miroslav Satan, Alexei Zhitnik and Viktor Kozlov each netted a goal for the Islanders, who have won four of their last five games overall. Rick DiPietro made 14 saves for New York.

The Islanders' defense stepped to the forefront on Thursday, as the team allowed fewer than 20 shots against for the first time this campaign. In addition, the five goals scored marked the team's highest output of the season in a regulation match. The Islanders managed a 5-4 shootout victory over Anaheim on October 11.

Blake now leads the team with seven goals, and his 12 points overall are four behind Alexei Yashin for the club lead. Blake has found the net in three straight and five of his last six games.

New York, which sits in a three-way tie atop the Atlantic Division with the Rangers and Penguins, will host Tampa Bay on Monday before embarking on a five-game road trip.

Atlanta, meanwhile, ended a two-game slide on Friday with a 4-3 win in Washington. Steve Rucchin scored the go-ahead goal 27 seconds into the third period, and Johan Hedberg stopped 24-of-27 shots to lead the Thrashers.

Greg de Vries and Jon Sim each scored a goal and assisted on another for the Thrashers, who snapped a two-game skid and gave Hedberg his first win of the season in only his second start.
