I tried to keep the price sort of low because i had to get a job if i wanted to play hockey since my parents want to help everyone else in the family with their sports but mine being hockey. I came up with these and just wanted some tips reviews on these. i already have been using my bauer vapor x20s for a couple of months now and i can skate.(my friends are on the school team and have been helping me since they want me to play.) at the moment i have $320, and i know i havent bought a stick yet.

Hi, welcome to the site.

I think the best site for equipment review would have to be www.icewarehouse.com
Search for the equipment on there and they usually have a video review for every item. If not, then youtube it.
You could can also compare prices between icewarehouse and hockeymonkey. I bought a few things from each, as some things were cheaper. Most of my gear came from hockeymonkey.

So I think it is the best idea to just look at a few different brands around your price range and then look at review videos as well as customer reviews on the sites.

Don't hesitate to ask more questions.

Thanks for the help! I have enough money for all the equipment i listed plus the mouthguard, uniform, and etc just not the stick which my friend has one he said i could use. I dont think my parents will let me try and play hockey which i love so much cause they wont pay for the season.

glad to see someone in the same boat as I am. I'm a little older than you and doing a closed drop-in league and a learn to play class. I picked up the EQ30 package and all of the gear has been reliable so far. Just an honest opinion... If you're playing in a checking league you might want to spend a bit more on a good pro caliber helmet... and maybe upgrade the shoulder pads. I know the price is a big issue for you but you only have one brain... and one good shot into the boards with a helmet that can't take it and you'll never be the same. Catch my drift?? I hope it all works out for ya!!! Keep your head up and stick on the ice!!:bt

Hey Spartan, just wondering how it worked out for you? Did you join a league? I just read your post and the replies. I was thinking, if your folks hold out and say they don't want to pay for the season, you could always go and play open hockey for the rest of the year and then join a men's league team since you are almost 18.
