(Sports Network) - The New York Rangers shoot for their fifth consecutive victory when the current Atlantic Division leaders visit the Dallas Stars tonight at American Airlines Center.

History dictates that the surging Rangers could have some trouble extending their win streak, however. New York hasn't won in its last six visits to Dallas, accumulating four losses and two ties over a decade-long span.

The Rangers last emerged victorious in Dallas on December 30, 1996, when the Blueshirts pulled out a 3-2 decision at the old Reunion Arena.

New York, which holds a two-point edge on New Jersey for first place in the Atlantic, opened a three-game road trip in fine fashion on Tuesday. Jarkko Immonen and Matt Cullen each recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Rangers to a 3-1 triumph over Philadelphia at the Wachovia Center.

Kevin Weekes needed to make only 15 saves for New York, which has allowed just five goals over the course of the streak.

The Rangers, who are a strong 10-5-1 on the road thus far, close out the swing Saturday in Toronto.
