(Sports Network) - The surging Vancouver Canucks will try to extend their longest win streak of the season tonight, when the red-hot club opens up a four-game homestand by entertaining the Dallas Stars.

Vancouver registered its fourth consecutive victory last night, edging Northwest Division rival Calgary by a 3-2 count at the Pengrowth Saddledome.

Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo stopped 27 shots, including all 13 he faced in the third period, to preserve an early lead, while Brendan Morrison notched a goal and an assist in the win.

Alexandre Burrows and Trevor Linden also had goals for Vancouver, which currently sits one point behind first-place Minnesota in the Northwest Division standings.

The Canucks will be aiming for their first five-game win streak since they reeled off six straight victories from October 14-25, 2005. Vancouver also brings a five-game win streak at General Motors Place into tonight's tilt and is 12-7-0 on home ice this season.

Dallas starts up a three-game road trip through Western Canada this evening and looks to rebound from Sunday's 4-2 home loss to San Jose.

Sergei Zubov and Niklas Hagman notched the goals for Dallas, which had won four of its last five games coming into the night. Usually-reliable netminder Marty Turco surrendered three goals on 10 shots in the first period before being replaced by Mike Smith, who made 18 saves the rest of the way.
