Very interesting pick, but I like it. A right handed right winger from Brandon who is more than a solid finisher, which will fit perfectly with Ribiero's playmaking skills. Smart pick by Nieuwndyk in the fact that he realizes that the Stars had a bad year, not a bad team.

I was slightly surprised also. I was sure that they were going to pick Paajarvi-Svensson, or maybe even Jared Cowen. Still, Glennie is definately a good addition to the Stars. I think he needs more time to mature a bit physically and fill the holes in his game, but he could easilt end up becoming a 60-70 point scorer, especially if Ribiero continues to improve.

Indeed. I wasn't trying to take away from Glennie in any way, shape or form, it was just a surprising pick. I'm sure that he'll fit into the Stars plans in the future very well.

On Ribeiro, I don't see him improving much more, at least not before Glennie arriving and being able to sustain it. Glennie at this point is probably two or three years away from arriving in the NHL. And even then, I'm not 100% sold that he gets tossed straight onto the top line in Dallas.

Oh, believe me I knew you weren't. I didn't even know who Glennie was until I did some heavy research. Not exactly what the Stars need to bulk up on, as our defense is losing Zubov and will probobly be among the worst in the NHL unless Nieuwendyk blitzes Free Agency, which I really don't see him doing...But down the line, having a finisher like Glennie will be great.
