(Sports Network) - Two teams trying to pick up ground in the Pacific Division meet tonight when the Dallas Stars host the San Jose Sharks at AmericanAirlines Center.

The red-hot Sharks hope to win their sixth consecutive game, as they are coming off Saturday's 3-2 decision in Detroit. Joe Pavelski's goal with 5.9 seconds left in regulation lifted the Sharks to the road win.

Patrick Marleau and Mark Bell registered the other tallies for San Jose, while Vesa Toskala needed to stop just 17 shots for the win.

San Jose winger Jonathan Cheechoo returned to game ice after missing six games with a leg injury. He registered three shots and zero points.

The Sharks, who finish a four-game road trek tonight, will host Colorado on Thursday.

Dallas, meanwhile, ended a three-game skid with Saturday's 4-3 shootout decision over visiting Minnesota. Sergei Zubov, Jussi Jokinen and Mike Ribeiro each scored in the shootout to lift the Stars.
