TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Sheldon Souray is spreading the credit around for his power-play success.

Souray scored a pair of man-advantage goals, helping the Montreal Canadiens beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-1 on Wednesday night.

"Look at some of the passes I'm getting," Souray said. "They're kind of right there for me to tee off, and I'm just able to have a bit more of an easier time to shoot the puck. I'm not rushed. It's been really a good group effort."

Souray opened the scoring 2:35 in and then gave Montreal a 2-1 lead late in the second. He has three two-goal games this season. Seven of his eight goals have come on the power play.

Montreal captain Saku Koivu recorded his 335th assist with the Canadiens, tying him for 16th on the franchise's career list with Claude Provost.

Vinny Prospal scored for Tampa Bay, but Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis each had 11-game point streaks snapped.

"We played well defensively," Souray said. "We knew they had a couple of players who are pretty hot and they seem to enjoy playing against us. I just thought all the way through we worked hard. We were willing to win the battles."

Montreal's Cristobal Huet made 29 saves, including five on Lecavalier during Tampa Bay's 15-shot first period. The Canadiens have won five of seven.

"Their goalie made the big saves," said Lecavalier, who finished with seven shots. "Made huge saves."

I watched the highlights from that game a Huet made some great saves kudos to him.

The Canadiens, who entered with the fifth-ranked power play, were 3-of-8 with the man advantage.
Tampa really needs to work on their penalty killing, that is a place where we really miss Kubina. I think Tampa is the complete opposite of what they were last season. They were the least penalized team in the NHL for most part of the season and their power play sucked. Now this season their penalty killing sucks and their power play still sucks. Torts get something going!!!
