(Sports Network) - One team will get their wish of ending a lengthy losing streak tonight, when the Edmonton Oilers visit the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center.
The Oilers have dropped seven straight games, six of which have come since trading star forward Ryan Smyth to the New York Islanders. All seven of the losses for Edmonton have come in regulation.
Edmonton's streak continued Sunday night in San Jose, as Evgeni Nabokov turned aside all 22 shots he faced to lift the Sharks past the Oilers, 3-0.
Dwayne Roloson made 28 saves for the Oilers, who have also lost 11 of their last 13 contests.
Edmonton is wrapping up a three-game road trip tonight. The Oilers are 12-18-4 as the visiting team this year and have been dealt setbacks in seven of their last nine away tests.
Los Angeles, meanwhile, has lost five in a row and the last three defeats have come in overtime.
