Before the Everett Silvertips celebrate the Christmas break, the hockey club will have three tough games this weekend. On Friday night the Silvertips will battle the defending WHL Champions, Vancouver Giants at Pacific Coliseum. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. It will be the first meeting between the two WHL heavyweights. The Silvertips and Giants will play again on Saturday night, this time at the Everett Events Center. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. Everett will conclude the tough weekend at Key Arena on Sunday night against the Seattle Thunderbirds. EVERETT SILVERTIPS LEADING SCORERS

The Silvertips are led in scoring by Peter Mueller (8 goals, 37 assists) with 45 points. Zach Hamill (14 goals, 25 assists) is 2nd on the hockey club in scoring with 39 points while first year forward Kyle Beach (17 goals, 14 assists) is 3rd on the team in scoring with 31 points. Mueller currently leads the Silvertips in assists (37) while Kyle Beach leads the team in goals scored (17). Silvertips defenseman, Graham Potuer leads the hockey club in +/- with a +11. In goal, Leland Irving has posted 19 wins, 1.55 GAA, 93.9% SP and 6 Shutouts. David Reekie is currently 6-1 with the Silvertips and has posted a 1.70 GAA, 92.5% SP with Everett this season.

EVERETT SILVERTIPS AMONG LEAGUE LEADERS

Silvertips forward Peter Mueller (8 goals, 37 assists) is 3rd in the WHL in scoring with 45 points. Mueller is also 2nd in the WHL in assists (37). Zach Hamill (14 goals, 25 assists) is currently tied for 8th in the WHL in scoring with 39 points. First year forward Kyle Beach (17 goals, 14 assists) is 7th in the WHL in rookie scoring with 31 points and is the leading scorer among all 16 year olds in the WHL. Defenseman Jason Fransoo (5 goals, 20 assists) is tied for 8th among all WHL defensemen in scoring with 25 points. In goal, Leland Irving is leading all WHL netminders in GAA (1.55), SP (93.9%), Shutouts (6) and is 2nd in Wins (19). David Reekie is currently 4th in the WHL in GAA (2.26).

SILVERTIPS SPECIAL TEAMS

The Silvertips are currently 1st in the WHL on the power play (62 for 259, 23.9%) and 2nd in the WHL on the penalty kill (217 of 239, 90.8%).

VERSUS THE VANCOUVER GIANTS

The Silvertips will battle the Vancouver Giants for the first of six meetings on Friday night. Everett is 7-9-2 (OTL) all time against the Giants in franchise history. The Silvertips are 3-5-1 (OTL) all time against Vancouver at Pacific Coliseum and 4-4-1 (OTL) lifetime against the Giants at the Everett Events Center. Last season, the Silvertips posted a 4-2 record against the Giants. VERSUS THE SEATTLE THUNDERBIRDS

Sunday night will be the fifth of ten meetings between the two US Division rivals. The Silvertips are 3-1 against the T-Birds this season and 0-1 against Seattle at Key Arena. The Silvertips are 16-15-1 (SOL)-4 (Tie) all time against the T-Birds and 2-12-3 (Tie) lifetime against Seattle at Key Arena. In their last meeting on December 9 at the Everett Events Center, the Silvertips defeated the T-Birds 4-3 (SO) in a shootout. EVERETT ACQUIRES ZETARIUK AND SMITH FROM MOOSE JAW

Everett Silvertips VP/General Manager Doug Soetaert announced that the Everett Silvertips have acquired defenseman Jesse Zetariuk and forward Carter Smith from the Moose Jaw Warriors. In return the Silvertips send defenseman Cody Thoring, forward Brady Calla and a 2008 6th Round Draft Pick to Moose Jaw. This season for the Warriors, Zetariuk, a 6'3, 202 pound defenseman, posted 5 goals and 15 assists for 20 points. The rugged 20 year old defenseman posted 7 goals and 31 assists last season for the Warriors in helping them capture the 2006 Eastern Conference Championship. The Brandon, MB native started his WHL career with the Red Deer Rebels in the 2002-2003 season. Carter Smith, Moose Jaw's 2nd round pick in 2003 Bantam Draft played in 17 games with the Warriors this season and recorded 2 goals and 2 assists. The Eyebrow, SK native tallied 7 goals and 1 assist last season with Moose Jaw.

The Canadian Hockey League today announced the twelfth CHL Mosaik MasterCard Top 10 Rankings for the 2006-07 season.

The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League's Top 10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.

All 72 Everett Silvertips games can be heard on the flagship station for Silvertips hockey on North Sound 1380 AM ESPN Radio. Keith Gerhart will begin his 4th season behind the microphone as the voice of the Silvertips. New color analyst Al Kinisky will join Gerhart for all Silvertips home games and selected road games. Fans can also listen to Silvertips hockey via the internet on everettsilvertips.com and listen inside the Everett Events Center on 107.3 FM. The Everett Silvertips post game show and After the Game Show will take place at the Ice Box inside the Everett Events Center after all home games. A Silvertips player will join Keith and the crew during the broadcast.

Catch an all new season of Everett Silvertips Rinkside on Everett Channel 21 all season long. The show will air daily at 4:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The show will also air during the evening at 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. every night on Channel 21.
