Silverthorn, Stars shut out opponents again
Rookie netminder Steve Silverthorn refuses to let up a goal, stopping all 24 shots faced in Iowa’s 3-0 win at Toronto on Saturday night for his second shutout in as many nights and in just his second AHL start.
Silverthorn has kept opponents scoreless for the last 120 minutes of play and stopped a total of 56 shots in his first two starts since joining the Stars.
Junior Lessard, Dan Hacker and defenseman Mario Scalzo all tallied for the Stars, who completed a three-game road trip by earning five out of a possible six points in the standings, going 2-0-1-0.
