Despite having season ending surgery on his hip, Mike Sillinger was able to take some time out of his busy rehab schedule to head down to the Islanders’ Team Store in the Broadway Mall today to meet and greet some of his biggest fans. From 5:30 to 7 pm, Mike was available to fans for photographs and autographs. The line was over 100 people long before Mike had even arrived, and when all was said and done, over 250 fans walked away smiling after getting a chance to hang out with the well known NHL veteran.

“I love any chance I get to meet the fans. These are the people who build the electric atmosphere for us as we skate each night, so it’s a great feeling to spend a little time with them,” explained Sillinger. Be sure to check the community calendar to find out when the next player appearance will be at team store.

This is cool. Silinger has always had a reputation for being a nice guy, so I am not surprised.
