The Edmonton Oilers will have to make due without the services of Ethan Moreau for at least a week, as the veteran forward is suffering from the effects of a dislocated right shoulder in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings.
The injury occurred when Moreau threw a gloved punch at defenceman Danny Markov late in the game. Moreau was looking for retribution for a hit Markov put on Jarret Stoll earlier in the evening. The shoulder popped out as Moreau pulled his arm back after throwing the punch. He went to the Oilers' dressing room immediately after suffering the injury, and popped his shoulder back in. Moreau did not return to the game.
Earlier in his career, Moreau dislocated his left shoulder during a fight with Chris Gratton.
