(Sports Network) - It looks like the Pacific Division is going to come down to the wire and if so, something is going to have to give between the Ducks and Sharks.

San Jose and Anaheim split a big home-and-home series last week and it could have been a lot worse for the Sharks. San Jose was coming off a 4-2 win against the Blackhawks for just its second win in six games and was then handed a 7-4 loss at home by the Ducks.

That win marked Anaheim's fourth over San Jose in five games so far this season.

So, not only were the Sharks now five points behind Anaheim for the lead in the Pacific, but the club next had to head into enemy territory to battle a Ducks team that has had a lot of success on its home ice this year.

But San Jose responded and squeaked out a 3-2 win at the Honda Center. All of the big boys came through for the Sharks in the win. Milan Michalek scored the late game-winner, Jonathan Cheechoo netted the other two goals and rising rookie Ryane Clowe picked up three assists.
