(Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks had to battle back from a slow start last season just to make the playoffs, but have begun this year on the right track.
The Sharks are 13-5-0 on the season and with 26 points are just two behind Anaheim for the Pacific Division lead.
San Jose has won four straight contests and is coming off Saturday's victory at Phoenix. Evgeni Nabokov and Vesa Toskala combined to stop 38 shots to lead the Sharks to a 2-1 triumph over the Coyotes.
Steve Bernier and Patrick Marleau each collected a goal and an assist to pace the Sharks' offensive attack. Scott Hannan and Milan Michalek also registered points on the night.
