Sharks open home set against Avs

(Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks begin a three-game homestand tonight when they welcome the Colorado Avalanche to HP Pavilion.

The Sharks had a five-game winning streak ended on Monday, as they dropped a 1-0 tilt in Dallas. Marty Turco made 25 saves to record the shutout and anchor the Stars' effort.

Evgeni Nabokov allowed only one goal on 13 shots for the Sharks, who concluded a four-game road trip at 3-1-0. Nabokov has surrendered one goal or less in three consecutive appearances.

San Jose was shut out for the second time this season.

The Sharks currently sit second in the Pacific Division with 40 points -- eight behind first-place Anaheim.

San Jose will host Nashville on Saturday.
