(Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings will both attempt to rebound from tough defeats when the Pacific Division clubs face off tonight at the Staples Center.
Both teams were handed losses by the Edmonton Oilers in their most recent games. San Jose fell to the Oilers by a 3-2 score Wednesday at the Shark Tank, while the Kings dropped a 2-1 overtime decision at home to Edmonton on Monday.
The Sharks outshot the Oilers by a decisive 34-16 margin but had trouble solving Edmonton goaltender Dwayne Roloson, who finished with 32 saves. Evgeni Nabokov managed to stop only 13 of the 16 shots that came his way for San Jose.
Marcel Goc and Jonathan Cheechoo had the goals for the Sharks, who had a three-game winning streak halted.
Los Angeles had won two in a row before Monday's narrow setback, in which Edmonton's Jan Hejda scored the deciding goal 1:14 into overtime and Roloson made 34 saves.
Konstantin Pushkarev tallied the lone goal for the Kings, while Mathieu Garon turned back 27 of the 29 shots he faced.
