(Sports Network) - The Ducks are the talk of the Pacific Division so far this season and the San Jose Sharks did little to change that earlier this week.

The Sharks had their first meeting against division-leading Anaheim on Tuesday night and were handed a 5-0 setback. Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 23 saves for his third shutout of the season and Teemu Selanne scored twice to lead the Ducks.

However, the important thing for San Jose was that it was able to bounce back with a 6-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night, after all, there is still plenty of time to catch up with the Ducks. The Sharks are off to a much better start than last year, when they had to rally from December on to erase the huge hole they dug themselves to begin the season.

This year, San Jose has started the season with a 16-7-0 record and, with 32 points, is just four behind Anaheim for the division lead.
