(Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks try to keep their momentum going forward tonight when they open a four-game road trip against the Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center.

The Sharks have won two straight and four of their last five matches, including Tuesday's 3-1 win over visiting Minnesota. Evgeni Nabokov made 22 saves and Patrick Marleau had a goal and an assist to lead the winning effort.

Mike Grier and Joe Thornton also scored for the Sharks, who beat the Wild for the just the second time in the last seven meetings. San Jose got revenge for a 4-1 loss at Minnesota on October 21.

Marleau netted his seventh goal of the season, which tied Milan Michalek for the team lead.

San Jose, which is 5-3-0 on the road, will visit Phoenix on Saturday.

Los Angeles, meanwhile, ended a two-game skid with Tuesday's 6-5 decision in Colorado. Sean Avery had two goals, and Los Angeles scored four second-period tallies en route to the victory.
