DETROIT (Ticker) - The San Jose Sharks haven't exactly missed Jonathan Cheechoo the last several weeks, but they undoubtedly are delighted to have him back in the fold.

The Sharks activated Cheechoo, the reigning Maurice Richard Trophy winner, from injured reserve prior to Saturday's game against the Detroit Red Wings.

Cheechoo suffered a left leg injury in a 4-3 win against the Colorado Avalanche on November 15 and had missed the last six games. However, San Jose went 5-1-0 over that stretch, including wins in each of its last four contests entering Saturday.

Cheechoo, 26, has struggled in trying to match last season's breakout campaign, when he scored 56 goals to become the first Shark to lead the league.
