(Sports Network) - The Ottawa Senators seek their fifth straight win tonight when they visit the Washington Capitals at the Verizon Center.

On Tuesday, Dany Heatley's two goals, his 17th and 18th of the season, sparked Senators to a 4-2 win over the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum.

Andrej Meszaros registered two assists, while Jason Spezza and Joe Corvo picked up a goal and one assist each for the Senators, winners in eight of their last nine games overall.

Netminder Martin Gerber made 24 saves on the night, improving to 5-8-1 on the year.

Heatley has been red-hot of late, posting seven goals and four assists in the last six games.

On the injury front, winger Daniel Alfredsson left the game with an apparent leg injury and is expected to miss tonight's game.

The Senators will host the NY Rangers on Saturday.

Washington, meanwhile, has won its last three games. On Saturday, Matt Pettinger scored two goals as the Capitals defeated the Buffalo Sabres, 7-4, at the Verizon Center.
