(Sports Network) - The struggling Ottawa Senators try to end a three-game slide tonight when they visit former goaltender Dominik Hasek and the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena.

On Sunday the Sens were trounced, 6-2, by host Columbus, as Rick Nash and Dan Fritsche each netted a pair of goals to lift the Blue Jackets.

Christoph Schubert and Mike Fisher both had goals for the Senators, while netminder Martin Gerber allowed four goals on 13 shots before being lifted in favor of Ray Emery, who came up with 16 saves.

Emery will likely receive the starting nod this evening.

The Senators were without captain Daniel Alfredsson, who is day-to-day with a hip injury. Alfredsson is doubtful for tonight's matchup.

Ottawa begins a three-game homestand tonight and will visit Nashville on Thursday.

Not sure how Spezza could score his 17th goal of the season before he scored the 16th of the year but that's what Yahoo has on their site.
